FDM-TR142 Basic Operation Course (FDM uPrint / Dimension Printers)

This course is exclusively for customers, owners and operators of Stratasys Dimension/uPrint 3D printers.

This course provides you with the basic skills to operate your Stratasys 3D printer. You will learn a variety of topics and will have the opportunity to practice during the many hands-on sessions. The course is highly recommended for new printer operators and those people who wish to refresh their basic knowledge of Stratasys Dimension/uPrint 3D printing systems.

Course objectives include:

  • Differentiating between Dimension and uPrint models
  • Conceptualizing how Stratasys Fortus 3D Production Systems create model and support parts
  • Familiarizing yourself with /limitation of the systems.
  • Explaining how STL files are used within CatalystEX
  • Describing the process of changing an STL file into a CMB file
  • Orienting a part in preparation for a build
  • Describing and identify support structures
  • Learning the functions and capabilities within CatalystEX
  • Post-processing the printed parts
  • Maintaining the machines (Hands on)
  • Handling the Material canister
  • Performing basic operator troubleshooting (Hands on)
  • Reporting issues to Stratasys/Local Partners
