FDM-TR220 Basic Operation Course (Fortus FDM Printers)

This course is exclusively for customers, owners and operators of Stratasys Fortus printers.

This course provides you with the basic skills to operate your Stratasys 3D printer. You will learn a variety of topics and will have the opportunity to practice during the many hands-on sessions. The course is highly recommended for new printer operators of Stratasys Fortus 3D Production System.

Course objectives include:

  • Learning the differences between Fortus systems
  • Differentiating between the material and how are they commonly used
  • Conceptualizing how Stratasys Fortus 3D Production Systems create model and support parts
  • Familiarizing yourself with the capabilities/limitations of the systems.
  • Explain how STL files are used within Insight
  • Acquiring knowledge of the process of changing an STL file into a CMB file
  • Orienting a part in preparation for a build
  • Describing and identifying support structures
  • Learning the functions and capabilities of Insight
  • Post-Processing printed parts
  • Maintaining the machines (Hands on)
  • Handling the Material Canister
  • Performing basic operator troubleshooting (Hands on)
  • Reporting issues to Stratasys/Local Partners
